2022-01-14 | 2 min Cyber Security

The !incident podcast is about cyber security and the flip side of technology around us.

Listen to an interesting interview dedicated to the security of e-shops and e-commerce. How these two things are related and what security risks they bring. Peter Roth from ANASOFT will tell you all about what the transition of business into the online world means, what advantages and pitfalls this world hides.

What does running an e-shop actually mean?

When we say e-shop, we imagine an online store with the goods we choose, then pay and choose the delivery method. However, e-shops have thousands of products and large logistics systems. And all this also brings security risks.

How a security specialist sees the terms e-shop and e-commerce

E-commerce refers to any transactions, transfers of any data that take place using the Internet. An e-shop is an online store, a virtual place where a company offers products or services via the Internet. E-commerce refers to all aspects of business online. In simplicity, we can perceive an e-shop as a subset of e-commerce.

How did ANASOFT get to the topic of the e-shop?

ANASOFT is a software house that develops its own products. One of the products is EMANS, a solution for managing production and warehouses. The so-called WMS, Warehouse Management System, which coordinates logistics and warehouse activities in e-shops. And these customers gradually became interested in the IT security of their e-shops.

What components are part of e-commerce?

Larger operators use tailor-made solutions for each component of the e-shop, which are integrated with each other. The main components are a web application, economic agenda, WMS, interface for carriers, CRM for customer relations, BI - business intelligence components, marketing tools and payment gateways.

Peter Roth, CIO ANASOFT: "Let's face it, there is no such thing as 100 percent security, but we should try to make it as good as possible."
