New register simplifies verification process for both citizens and courts

The Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic recently launched the Register of Confirmations (Clauses) of Legal Force and Enforceability of Judicial Decisions on its website. Thanks to this new Register, prepared by the software company ANASOFT, citizens no longer have to verify the legal force of judicial decisions with the court; they can do so simply by connecting themselves through their computer or tablet.

A simple and quick method way to verify the legal force of judicial decisions has been made available to citizens by the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic since May, 2019.

The new Register of Confirmations (Clauses) of Legal Force and Enforceability of Judicial Decisions, developed by the software company ANASOFT, is a part of the Portal of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic.

The Register of Confirmations (Clauses) of Legal Force and Enforceability of Judicial Decisions is a public register, on the basis of which a party to legal proceedings (a legal representative or a third party) can verify whether a legal decision has become final and / or enforceable. Data from the courts’ information system is automatically transferred to this Register. Thus, entitled persons can independently, in the comfort of their own home and without having to visit the court, verify on the website whether a judicial decision has become final or enforceable.

The advantage of this solution is that it eliminates the administrative burden borne by the courts and the entitled persons. For example, it removes the burden of submitting the confirmation of legal force and enforceability of the enforcement order to the application for execution of enforcement proceedings, which is borne by the entitled person in the enforcement proceedings.

Currently, the extract from the Register has an informative character. Upon termination of the trial operation, it will be possible to use the confirmations (clauses) from the Register for legal purposes. Each published confirmation (clause) downloaded by an entitled person will be signed by a qualified electronic signature or seal. Subsequently, the confirmations (clauses) will no longer have to be submitted to other state administration bodies, because the downloaded clauses will verify the legal force and / or enforceability of the decision.
