Efficient energy consumption should not be just a motto, but a truly fulfilled goal that preserves a healthy environment and saves customers money. Rules are starting to apply that allow better monitoring of heat and water consumption.
New directive for heat and water suppliers
Since October 2020, a directive has been in effect by which the European Union, through its member states, forced heat and water suppliers to inform consumers more often about consumption at their take-off points.
In practice, this means that the consumer has gained the right to request information on real consumption at a frequency of every three months. If he does not do so himself, he will receive the information twice a year. The purpose of this measure is to motivate the consumer to better manage their consumption. If he learns about the consumption during the winter only in the spring, he cannot influence the consumption retroactively. If he is informed more often, he has the reaction time to detect inefficient points of consumption, adjust the heating regime, or invest in more modern and gentler technologies.
If, for example, he received information about heat consumption ex post and in summary for the entire heating season, he did not know how to effectively analyze the weak points of his heating regime, and even if he thought of possible savings measures, he often forgot or resented them until the next heating season.
At the same time, information on consumption should contain more data - price and cost of energy, information on CO2 emissions, information on the fuel mixture, history of consumption, or comparison with average consumption.
The change is the result of the transposition of Directive 2018/2002/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 December 2018, which amended Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on energy efficiency.
Information on consumption every month
Those customers who have modern meters installed at the point of consumption may request more frequent notification. From the beginning of 2022, it will be possible to request information on consumption or billing every month. From this date, it will also not be possible to install meters that do not allow remote reading at the collection points. If the given collection point does not have devices that cannot be read remotely, it will be an obligation to modernize these devices in 2027.
Simple display of consumption on the poschodoch.sk portal
The company ANASOFT, which for a long time has been providing one of the best software solutions for administrators of residential and non-residential premises in Slovakia and the Czech Republic - DOMUS, is preparing a new version of the portal www.poschodoch.sk, which is intended for apartment owners.
In the Consumption Control section, it provides refined consumption displays that comply with the Energy Efficiency Directive. They bring a comparison not only to the average house, but also to a comparable apartment.
They also take climatic demands into account when comparing between years. In other words, they take into account weaker and stronger winter.
Comprehensive data on the portal
The advantage of the www.poschodoch.sk portal is also that it combines supplies from different manufacturers. An apartment user can have water meters from one manufacturer and heat meters from another. On the portal, these consumption data will be combined under one account.
In addition to data on consumption, the portal www.poschodoch.sk also contains a lot of data on house management. Data that interests all owners. Examples are the repair fund, house invoices, meeting minutes, audit reports, etc.
