Sales planning: everything at a glance

For the sales department of a commercial vehicle constructer a complex planning software was implemented. The most important requirement was an illustration of the sales structure on the one hand (salesman, dealer, subsidiaries, hierarchically organized by regions, countries etc.) and the production structure on the other. Comparison dates are provided for every planning cycle from the operative systems which support the planning process as being numbers per marketing department and product category.

The data entry is done using printed forms (paper) or directly by using a browser based application in the intranet or extranet.

At the turnover planning, the current sales plan and average prices from past sales are combined with forecast changes (+/- %) for products and regions

The complete planning process is controlled according to the sales hierachy.

Single sales managers can review, accept and submit to the next hierarchy level or reject the plan for revision. The status of a planning can be seen at every level of the sales and product structure, visualized by corresponding traffic lights colors.
