ING Bank – Internet Banking
The Challenge
ING Bank in Slovakia has made a strategic decision about going into retail banking on the Slovak market. A special product “ING Konto” was designed with several special characteristics. One of them is its “e-nature” – human assisted processes were reduced to minimum and all operations can be carried out through Internet or mobile phone. Together with the introduction of the new product in the new area, numerous business processes had to be introduced or substantially changed and the bank had to prepare itself to handle a lot more individual customers.
Our Solution
This situation required custom solution for several communication channels, as well as new Back Office system. Consortium of several companies was formed to take up the challenge. Beside of common tasks in system architecture, security infrastructure and project management, Anasoft’s individual role was development of an internet banking application and implementation of the Back Office / CRM system. Both of these areas required analysis of the newly formed business processes and their transformation into design of efficient applications. Reliable implementation of the system was only possible by using state-of-the-art technologies in this area. Interconnection between a several systems (banking information system, security infrastructure, CRM etc.) represented a special group of tasks where our long-term experience with a broad range of technologies and platforms helped to create appropriate interfaces. Naturally, part of our solution for the core business critical application is an ongoing 24/7 maintenance and support.
The project had to comply with strictly given quality, time and security constraints. We succeeded to cope with them and ING Bank Slovakia introduced new product with great results.
Applied Technology
The project required interconnection of different applications, therefore the system architecture was built around middleware – Financial Fusion Server of Sybase. Internet banking application was implemented as multi-tier, using J2EE with Sybase EAServer. The back office CRM system’s core is an implementation of Marketing Manager of update.com upon Microsoft SQL Server. Communication between applications uses XML standards.
