The www.rodinka.sk portal offers information about child care, social and legal advisory and exchange of experiences in this field.

Background
The authors of the project saw a gap in providing information services to vulnerable communities – (future) young parents. Some of them have been employed in information services and some in healthcare. Good information availability in this field can help these young people overcome problems of childcare, help them with health problems, in upbringing, obtaining legal information, information on health and other facilities, information in economic and social fields etc.

Objectives
The main objective of Bab@tko project is to mediate easily-accessible and important information through the Internet for young parents and the ones who are going to be parents without the need to see doctors, psychological consultations or legal advice etc. The supportive objectives included
- Mediation of other people’s experience in child care, pregnancy etc,
- Support of decision making on selection of suitable health facilities and methods for healthcare by offering databases,
- Assist in prevention and healthcare of children, and link the non-professional and professional public in the field of child care from conception,
- Assist in decision-making on spending free time with children for their intellectual and physical development,
- Assist in seeking or offering services in this field,
- Offer suitable toys and aids for upbringing and childcare.

Outputs and results
After its successful launch the Project Babetko offers daily updated news, information, and advice on family, parenthood, children, and babies, services for families, mothers and children, sales of children’s goods in the shops (e.g. prices of nappies), calculations of fertile days, ovulation, due date and other services and information.
The interest among visitors has gone beyond the expectations and exceeded the level of 500,000 page views monthly and become number one in on-line childcare information services on Slovak internet market.
