Amun-VIS (Visa Information System)

Amun-VIS (Visa Information System) is a comprehensive national software application system interfacing with the NG-SISII (National Gateway of the Schengen Information System II). The NG-SISII defines valid interfaces for every implementation of VISA-systems within member states. Amun-VIS is built using the Anasoft application and integration platform Amun. Amun-VIS serves to process and document persons entering the Schengen area.

The autonomous portion of NS-VIS, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (mainly border and immigration police), covers three main functions:

  • visa agenda,
  • agenda of the certification of applicants’ invitations
  • agenda of the application for permission for an extended stay

Processing of applications and application evaluation is handled for each of the above mentioned areas. Application processing is mainly aimed at searching for positive hits in the following information systems:

  • Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
  • CS-VIS (Central System - Visa Information System),
  • SIS14All (Schengen Information System One For All),
  • NS-SISII (New generation of the central Schengen information system CS-SISII, managing alerts for objects of different types).

Evaluation of applications takes place in real time. In the case of a negative outcome (no hit) the application is evaluated in short time (approximately 5 seconds). This system has integrated all of the processing that the VISION consultation system required. Evaluation and answering of VISION consultation messages is also accomplished in approximately 5 seconds. For instances when an automated evaluation is not possible, or when unacceptable applications are evaluated, manual processing by users is utilized. The definition of rules for switching between automated and manual processing is provided.

The application covers the area of operations defined by the interface of the Central VISA system (CS-VIS).
